Hi, I’m Kiia Vannella
I’m a naturopathic nutritionist and a member of the ANP (Association for Naturopathic Practitioners).
As a young adult, I knew I wanted to help people, and after many years as a sports instructor, I decided to study physiotherapy and got my Bachelor’s degree. I’ve always been interested in health and nutrition and quickly realised physiotherapy wasn’t my path. I started to explore natural and complementary therapies.
After having my children, I finally got the opportunity to study again, and I became a Naturopathic Nutritionist at the CNM (College for Naturopathic Medicines) in London. I also study Naturopathy at ANEA in Rome, Italy, where I’m currently based, to improve my knowledge of reflexology, herbs, flower remedies and all the fantastic things that Naturopathy offers.
Let’s transform your energy levels, mood and hormonal health through natural naturopathic approaches such as food, supplements, herbs, flower remedies, Bioresonance and more!
Consultation
The initial consultation consists of two parts: The first part is a 1-2h consultation where we discuss all your medical history and why you seek help. The second part is a 20-30 minute in-person or over-the-phone conversation where I give you dietary and lifestyle advice and suggestions on possible supplementation.
Follow-up consultations consist of review and re-evaluation, making adjustments, possible re-testing and possibly treatment with Bioresonance and/or PEMF as preferred. Sometimes deeper issues arise as the body starts to move towards health, and these can be discussed in a follow-up appointment.
What is Naturopathic Nutrition?
Naturopathic medicine draws on a holistic approach to healing which considers the whole person – body, mind and spirit. They recognise that disease is complex and caused by a combination of factors.
Nutritional therapy is core to comprehensive naturopathic care restoring balance through appropriate nourishment and focusing on promoting vitality and well-being through specific, individual, therapeutic dietary intervention. It can include the use of herbs, supplements, and functional foods. The impact of the foods we are exposed to plays a direct role in our health, from preconception to death. The foods we choose to eat daily can significantly affect disease susceptibility, proper physical, mental, and intellectual development, inflammation and immunity.
Naturopathic nutrition is based on whole, natural foods and particularly quality, fresh, seasonal and organic produce. We are all individuals, and therefore the ideal naturopathic diet may take many different forms within this basic framework to meet the diverse needs of patients.
Naturopaths look at all the influences that make an individual genuinely individual and alter their requirements for nutrients in the context of nutrition. This includes considering a person’s genetics age, gender, environmental exposures (e.g. chemicals or heavy metals), medication use, particular health conditions they may have and their emotional response.
We are all unique individuals. Good nutrition is about more than just getting the recommended intake of nutrients daily. It’s about having a diet tailored to your needs and your body’s specific requirements to achieve optimal health.
Bioresonance
I first got acquainted with Bioresonance when my second child had reflux as a newborn. I took him to a homoeopath and Bioresonance practitioner, and from that day, he never struggled with reflux again. I knew this was something I needed in my future practice.
What is Bioresonance?
It’s measuring or treating the energy that flows through our bodies. All cells in our body emit electromagnetic vibrations or oscillations. These electromagnetic vibrations control cellular functions like the pumps that bring in nutrients and pump out waste from our cells. When the cells are infected, inflamed or not working correctly, the vibration is altered, as is the cellular function. The cellular exchange of nutrients and waste can also be impaired.
Bioresonance testing looks at the vibration of all organs. By reading these vibrations, we can identify the body’s imbalances. Once the imbalances are identified, they can be treated by amplifying the healthy vibrations. Bioresonance can help the cells restore a healthy vibration, improving cell function, detoxification and their ability to fight pathogens. These vibrations are different from the natural vibrations of pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and helminths, making them weaker.
The duration of Bioresonance testing varies. Initially, I run a rapid test to get an overall view of the client’s health. It takes about 5 minutes and is done by wearing conductive electrodes on the head, wrists and ankles. These only emit electromagnetic vibrations and are safe for everyone, from children to the elderly, and in pregnancy. However, people with pacemakers or organ transplants should not do Bioresonance.
The test and treatment are non-invasive and are not painful. You may feel some tingling, but you will probably not feel anything.
Sometimes we will run additional tests to evaluate compatible foods or supplements. Treatment takes about 20-60 minutes, depending on the imbalances found by wearing conductive wristbands that bade your body with the vibrations we found needed harmonising through testing.
PEMF
I was introduced to PEMF as an intern at a physiotherapy clinic in Finland. We used PEMF therapy on clients with muscle and bone injuries but also other more chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia and MS. The electromagnetic stimulation activates the body’s healing cascades to improve, for example, bone mineralization after fractures or in osteoporosis. Increasing blood circulation and oxygen pressure PEMF therapy has also been found to be effective for other conditions such as depression.
What is PEMF?
Pulsating electromagnetic field therapy PEMF devices work with the body’s recovery processes to relieve pain by restoring the cells’ ability to function efficiently. PEMF therapy increases blood flow and oxygen pressure, stimulating, activating and regenerating cells.
All organs and tissues in our body consist of trillions of cells working together to maintain regular functionality. The health of our body depends on the effectiveness of these cells to keep numerous metabolic functions at any given time. Any problems at the cellular level could reduce efficiency and increase vulnerability to potential toxins and infections from invaders. Cellular dysfunction and cumulative tissue damage may lead to chronic pain.
Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field (PEMF) therapy is non-invasive and safe. It is proven through extensive clinical trials to be an effective therapy. All living organisms, including human cells, create magnetic fields. PEMF sends a vibrant and harmonic electromagnetic field into the body. The application of PEMF has been shown to have favourable benefits on international standards. At least 3,000 double-blind studies conducted at the university level have found the positive effect of PEMF in improving a range of conditions. The United States Food and Drug Administration has already approved the use of PEMF therapy for conditions like brain cancer, depression and anxiety, bone fractures, and urinary incontinence. NASA was awarded a US patent in 2009 for its research on PEMF. In addition to the NASA tissue repair patent, pulsed magnetic fields were found to stimulate the growth of stem cells.
